Installing BDE using InnoSetup Hi there, I am installing the BDE using Inno Setup, which I can do ok. My question is, I have a requirement to prompt the user for the name of an alias. Is this possible, and if so how? ie the alias will be insalled using a default name, but I need to give the user a chance to change it. Any takers? MP |

I use Innosetup to create installation files for my application. My application uses BDE so I use MiniReg to install it. I want BDE to be installed always into the same location which is: C: Program Files Common Files Borland Shared unfortunatelly MiniReg opens a dialog which allows user to change this destination.

How to install BDE with Inno Setup in 'silent mode'?Quote> how can I install BDE with Inno Setup in 'silent mode' - like with do 'silent' mode. I think the problem is that (assuming you are using BDEINST.DLL) bdeinst.dll does not accept a switch (that I know of) that lets *it* run in silent mode. I believe bdeinst.dll always displays its prompt for the BDE location after unpacking the BDE files from itself. As far as I know, the /s for silent mode in regsvr32 is just telling regsvr32 to not display any of its own message boxes (like for 'successful registration' notices). I don't think that it supresses any messages coming from the target component (AFAIK). Vinnie Murdico The BDE Support Page http://www.bdesupport.com |
